Humility: Modesty, unassuming, nature, meekness, mildness, submissiveness, walking in obedience and compliance.
True humility is quite the opposite of arrogance. Arrogance involves being conceited, haughty in spirit, being given to egotism and pride.
Numbers 12:3 "Now the man Moses was very humble, more than all men who were on the face of the earth."
Moses walked in true humility through out his life.
Walking in humility is a choice of our free will. We can choose to walk in arrogance and pride or we can use the examples set in the Word and walk in genuine meekness and submissiveness.
If you choose to stay in humility, God will exalt you. If you choose to stay in pride, God will humble you.
Luke 14:11 "For whoever exalts himself will be humbled and he who humbles himself will be exalted." (This is in red lettering meaning these words were from the mouth of Christ.)
Numbers 12:3 "Now the man Moses was very humble, more than all men who were on the face of the earth."
Moses walked in true humility through out his life.
Humility has two levels:
1) Humility before our Lord
2) Humility in human relationships
Colossians 3:12 - 13 "Therefore as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering, bearing with one another, if anyone has a complaint against another, even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do."
God will teach and give instructions to those who walk in true humility.
Psalm25.9 "The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His way."
God provides salvation for the humble.
Psalm 149:4 "for the Lord hakes pleasure in his people, He will beautify the humble with salvation.
Our outward appearance will eventually display what truly is in our hears. (Matthew 12:34-35) Some walk in false humility which is really pride in disguise. But when the rubber hits the road, this kind of people will spew from their moths what is truly in their hearts. Those that have chosen to make true humility and its characteristics of modesty, meekness, and submissiveness to authority, mildness, and compliance part of their EVERYDAY life will display this not only inward but deed.
just as Jesus, who is at the right hand of the Father, is
interceding on our behalf so His followers are also called to do intercede in
lifting one another's burdens expecting by faith to receive an answer to our
prayers.
